Brazilian minister spoke to Jaroslav Klíma, CEO of TESCAN ORSAY HOLDING

Mr. Celso Pansera, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations, spoke to Jaroslav Klíma, CEO of TESCAN ORSAY HOLDING, about investments in research infrastructure in Brazil.

According to Klima, a number of visits to research institutions confirmed his expectations that the country has "a prepared scientific community which is enthusiastic for work" and well-equipped laboratories. He praised the purchase plan of instruments of the Financier of Studies and Projects (Finep / MCTI) and he expressed interest in the domestic market of electronic microscopes which could be "highly customized" for every need. The Minister Mr. Pansera informed Mr. Klíma about the negotiation of a loan of US $1.4 billion with the Inter-American Development Bank (DIB). He also informed him about the proposal to allocate funds from the Pré-Sal Fondeo Social for science and research beyond MCTI's intention so to reach the target of 2% of GDP by 2020.
