TESCAN FIB-SEM LYRA3 used for investigating the role of Si contamination in the NASA’s Genesis crash

NASA’s Genesis mission collected solar-wind in order to analyse its precise composition and properties.
A research group conducted a study aimed to understand the interaction of the Genesis payload with contamination causing its crash on the Utah desert. The TESCAN FIB-SEM LYRA3 was used – among other instruments – for sample preparation and EDX analysis.
