This year 2017, it will be 70 years since the first electron microscopy was installed in Brno. In 1958, the Tesla BS242, a desktop electron microscope was awarded the gold medal at the World Expo in Brussels.
Currently, one-third of the world’s electron microscopes production takes place in Brno. TESCAN which is a clear example of the rich heritage of Brno’s electron microscopy, significantly contributes to these global figures. Innovations and constant development has consolidated TESCAN into a global company, which last summer, celebrated its 25th anniversary.
These are some of the reasons why TESCAN has decided to be part of Days of Electron Microscopy in Brno as a co-organiser; this event will be from May 15 to 21, 2017.
The aim of this event is to popularise electron microscopy not only in Brno but in the whole Czech Republic.
