Evaluation of nanomaterial toxicity with the TESCAN Q-PHASE: An advantage over well-established assays

With the tremendous increase in the development of newly engineered nano¬materials, there is an indisputable need for evaluation of their safety and hazard risks for living systems. Quantitative phase imaging enabled by Q-PHASE provides an ideal technique for label-free monitoring of cellular response to the properties of new materials. Moreover, valuable morphological and dynamic parameters of cells can be extracted from such data. A new article, dedicated to the evaluation of black phosphorus cytotoxicity using the Q-PHASE, was recently published in Chemistry – A European Journal.
