The application example for Single Beam is named "Low beam energy SEM investigations of ultrastructure of resin-embedded biological complex systems".
The study of brain and neural tissue is essential for understanding of different processes and mechanisms that take place in neurodegenerative diseases as well as key to finding cures or developing treatments that help scientists fight such conditions. The new TESCAN S8000 microscope equipped with a combined electrostatic-magnetic objective and a powerful multi-detector system guarantees excellent resolution and BSE signal collection especially at low beam energies which makes it ideal for imaging the surface of resin-embedded thin specimens.
