Queensland University of Technology acquires TESCAN MIRA3

The MIRA3 system is equipped with an EDX spectrometer allowing microstructural and chemical analyses. This high-performance FE-SEM is to be installed at the Central Analytical Research Facility (CARF); a laboratory that houses state-of-the-art instruments for analysing physical, mechanical, chemical and biological properties of solids, liquids and gases.

The instrument will be used for diverse purposes such as research of polymer scaffolds for bone healing, corrosion studies on stainless steel, studies on multilayer materials for solar cell devices, and, electron beam lithography applications.
