The ALUMINIUM and NON-FERROUS METALS 2022 conference will take place from 18 to 21 October at the Hrubá Skála Castle Hotel in the Czech Paradise where TESCAN will be represented by Hana Tesařová, Head of Global Materials Science Applications, and Michal Klášterecký, Area Sales Manager. Hana will contribute to the program with her talk entitled “Explore a new layer of information using selective contrast methods with BSE TESCAN CLARA Field-Free UHR-SEM” on Thursday, October 20 at 15:10.
The event is a space for sharing knowledge in solving manufacturing problems related to the processing of non-ferrous metals and their alloys. Participants will learn about the introduction of new materials and technologies, non-conventional non-ferrous materials, powder, and composite materials, etc. They will also gain insights into developments and research in metallography and materials testing.
The program also includes a competition “Best colour and black and white photograph of non-ferrous metal structure”, in which we have entered two images. The first is Alloy Pt92W8 – a section through the material (sensitive grid) of a wire strain gauge, which is used to measure mechanical stress in materials such as aircraft engine blades. The second image is a Cu7Ni2Si1Cr alloy – a sample produced by 3D printing – this alloy is used in applications where good electrical and thermal properties are required along with high mechanical properties.
