The new TIMA-X was installed in the African Minerals and Geosciences Centre (AMGC) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The AMGC is funded by several African states (Angola, Comoros, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda) in order to promote socio-economic and environmentally responsible mineral development in Africa. The AMGC is a center of excellence and significance, able to provide specialized laboratory services for the mineral industry. The TIMA-X mineral analyzer will enable the AMGC to offer automated mineralogical characterization as part of its analytical offer. TIMA-X is now the first scanning electron microscope in the AMGC laboratory.
