Dynamic micro-CT shifts the focus from material characterization to material behavior

Dynamic micro-CT is a significant evolution in micro-CT technology. It enables scientists to capture data from unpredictable events that may be missed with conventional time-lapse techniques.

This is especially true for the timing of abrupt transition that is the experimental parameter of interest. The higher the temporal resolution of the system, the more detailed the data will be from the accelerated event and the more valuable for subsequent analysis.

Wesley De Boever, Product Marketing Manager, TESCAN, discusses this topic in an article recently published in R&D World magazine, “Dynamic Micro-CT Shifts the Focus from Material Characterization to Material Behavior,” read it here.

Example of 3 different plastic AM parts that have undergone compression testing while being continuously imaged with dynamic CT. Only 4 images out of 210 collected are shown here.
